Annual Giving
The Princeton Class of 1988 has set an exemplary pace in the years since graduation, capped off by setting a 20 th reunion record by raising $2,268,888 . As a class, we have set a number of participation and dollar records, and an impressive 91.2% of the class has given at least once to annual giving. Our cumulative dollar total exceeds $2.8 Million, putting us ahead of 1987 (which has had a whole extra year), and nipping at the heels of 1985 and 1930
There are three easy ways to help us maintain this effort:
-
Make a Gift : The most important thing you can do is simply to make sure you make a gift to Princeton Annual G iving each year. The annual giving cycle runs from July 1 through June 30, and your gift before December 31 each year will reduce the time and effort our team of volunteers must expend to track down classmates and ensure the continued success of our class. The easiest (and greenest) ways to give are to go online to http://giving.princeton.edu/ag (you're already online), or call 800-258-5421.
Volunteer to Call Other Classmates: If you would like to volunteer, please contact Bill Bowman or Sean Brennan , your new class agents. [clicking names will e-mail us]
Keep Your Contact Information Current: You can check the contact information alumni records has for you at Tigernet . While you're there, you can update any information that's out of date and also see what's going on around campus and in the alumni community.
Thanks go out to the so many people working on our annual giving efforts, including:
Bob Newmark, Larry Neubauer, Ed Siskind, Lillian Oshva, Chuck Fontana, Jimmy Simmons, Kathryn Elliott Love, Bart Huffman, Tina Courpas, Nancy Peretz, and so many others!
During the course of talking to our classmates, I am often asked, "Why does Princeton need my contribution?" While every Princetonian gives for different reasons, here are some reasons why the University is worthy of support:
Because Princeton is committed to providing the finest liberal arts education in the world, and there is no better place than Princeton to study history, English, politics, languages, and new and exciting interdisciplinary programs - not to mention the Woodrow Wilson School.
Because Princeton is on the cutting edge of scientific research, creating a new center for the study of energy and the environment and supporting sustainable solutions.
Because Princeton's Global Initiatives funds and Global Scholars program sponsor international collaboration and research abroad, an experience essential for those who will be leaders in our increasingly international society.
Because Princeton's need-based financial aid program is one of the strongest in the country - meeting 100 percent of each admitted student's financial need with grants that need not be repaid.
Because every one of us, even if we paid full freight, enjoyed a subsidized education thanks to the earlier generations of Tigers who supported Old Nassau.
Because if you didn't go to Princeton, you may never have had the chance to know Bob Newmark.
These are just the beginning. Please consider joining with our classmates in support of this year's campaign. By giving now, you will also save paper and administrative costs.
