Reunions 2010
May 27-30, 2010 is just around the corner. Come put the class dues you've already paid (right?) and drink beer on the class of 1990's dime.
More info to follow...
Class Dues Update
Thanks goes out to the 175 classmates who've paid their dues. These dues do not go to the University, but are instead used to support Class of 1988 projects and activities. Gotten your PAW? Attended a tailgate? Gone to a regional lecture or event? Enjoyed free beer at an off year reunion? Those were all covered by class dues funds.
Now, 175 is a good number. An honorable number. But a proud number? Not when it's only 16% of our class and we've regularly pushed 25% participation in the 20 odd years since we walked away from Old Nassau. Let's mark this year up to unusual solar flare activity and get back up where we belong. Want to see who to thank for the latest PAW or warm beer in a plastic cup? Look no further. Want to add yourself to the list? Take a look at the left side of this page.
Reunions 2009
It may have been an off year, but we did have the opportunity to collect the Clancy cup from our 20th
and enjoy the brilliant weather that weekend.
Let's make sure we get someone on the weather for the 25th, which is bearing down on us.
PAW Online
The PAW has redesigned their website to provide past classnotes and memorials, letters and articles and a Weekly Blog to keep us all on top of the news of Princeton and its alumni.
Speaking of classmates in the PAW, back in the "Tiger Eats" issue, there was a profile of Guy Hernandez and the restaurant he owns and runs with his wife Stella. They've been surprised by the number of Princetonians in the Portland area, so if you're ever in Portland, be sure to stop by for a drink, a snack or a full five course meal.
Volunteer Leadership Assembly
Classmates Charlene Huang Olson, Larry Neubauer, Jimmy Simmons, Sean Brennan and Bart Huffman were all on-campus for the University's Volunteer Leadership Assembly held in October. The event is held about once every three years. Approximately 600 alums descended upon the campus that weekend. Bart is currently chairing the Committee on Regional Affairs.
new class agents
Please welcome our new class agents, Sean Brennan and Bill Bowman, who are not new to the Annual Giving scene, but are certainly stepping up as we head toward the Big 25.
We thank Bob Newmark for an amazing five years and for his efforts leading a wonderful group including Larry Neubauer, Lillian Oshva, Chuck Fontana, and many others who were and will continue to be invaluable to the team.
the Clancy Award (again)
Two for two. The 20th followed up on our 15th's success and scored the Clancy Award for the best organized reunion. The exact wording of the award might be slightly different, but suffice it to say that Theresa and Brooke and their crew were all that and a bag of chips.
Nice work everyone.
witness protection...
Now we realize that there may be legitimate reasons to live off the grid and under the Princeton radar, but that doesn't mean we have to stop looking for you. Chris Lu is going to start listing some of our classmates who have gone missing in the PAW to see if anyone can shed some insight and we have a list of folks with no email (how is that still possible) as well as folks we don't have reliable phone numbers for. Take a look and see if there's anyone you know and let Chris Lu know what you know. You know?
And once we've found you, don't forget to keep us up to date with your Tigernet info.
